I wrote this song as poetry while in the mental hospital after being in an extremely abusive relationship with a severely mentally ill person (irony). It was mostly a means of therapy. It's about losing yourself to save someone else and then being betrayed in the end. An average night for me would be dealing with uncontrollable screaming, rage, and walking into the bathroom with a puddle of blood on the ground, and my partner slicing her self and blaming it on me. The poetry was simplified to make it easier to listen to and to be more upbeat. However, I still stayed true to what I was feeling, and I am satisfied with the result.
